bbz : The aim of the design for the redesign of the Harras was the transformation of a crossroads of two arterial roads into a city square with a high quality of stay. For this purpose, an attractive district square with city-functional qualities for residents was created from an existing multi-lane roundabout. To achieve this goal, the existing roundabout will be replaced by a three-armed hub in the southern area of Harras, the space-consuming traffic areas have been minimized without sacrificing quality for motorized private transport to the vacant space as a quality public space available to residents and users deliver.The Harras was divided into two areas, a spacious plaza in front of the Gründerzeit facades of the north side and a forecourt for the listed post office building on the south side. The new generous plaza on the north side underlines the important pedestrian relationship between S-Bahn in the Albert-Roßhaupter-Straße and the center of Sendling in the northern Plinganserstraße. This is where the new attractive district square on the Harras, which the residents of Sendling had to do without for so long, is being built.

Already in the middle of the demolition work, the restaurateurs have placed their tables and chairs on the future space in the construction site.
