“When we face a space with a sense of time, we always think of two things first: respecting the original temperament of the space and preserving the beauty of the space, which has been polished by time, ” said Designer Bo Zhou& Yuyang Cai, ”This aesthetic feeling can not be artificially sculpted in a short time, even with the most luxurious materials. ”
After a series of repairs, connections, excavations, overturns, and reconstructions, Thankusir restaurant, hidden in a quiet corner of the downtown area, was unveiled to the public. The box shaped building grows from the courtyard, intersperses and overlaps, while the elegant gray walls of concrete, mottled and undecayed, and it quietly creates an emotional bond with the site through the food.

Thankusir Neverland, formerly an abandoned auto repair shop, it consists of a small building with a basement, a skirt building, and several small outdoor spaces, each of its space is divided by the wall into trivial and messy, and there's no connection between them . After several years of silence, the renovated abandoned automobile repair plant has blossomed the unique charm of the old buildings.

After the renovation of the building, most of the walls were removed. Skylights of different sizes were opened on the roof. Sunlight poured into the interior, and the building returned to its square framework and fresh appearance. All the wall windows facing the residential building on the South side were cancelled, and skylights were used to avoid the problem of disturbing the residents, while the style of the century-old mosque compound was introduced into the restaurant landscape.
The whole project area is huge, the transformation of hidden works and supporting hardware facilities cost huge, can use the cost of decoration budget is very low. We decided to “take advantage of the beauty of the building itself”, which gave us an unexpected surprise.

The triangular beam in the Chinese character “人” shape is arranged in a sequence, showing the tall and open pattern of the architectural space. Open the skylight and do not make any modifications to the exposed concrete wall section, so that this style collides and contrasts with the natural texture of the original wooden table and chair. When the warm sunshine comes in, suddenly the tropical scenery of Malaysia comes into view. The space is interspersed with large broadleaf vegetation, holiday mode and dinner party scene is about to start.

The Glass Patio leads from the roof to the underground bar. Through the design of sense of sequence, the three floors are linked together, and the sunshine from the roof is directly introduced into the ground floor area and basement, so that the dull basement space has more visual and emotional connections with the outside world.

Designers hope to give it the space atmosphere of an art museum. Ceramics in glass patio are partners of food. The presence of gentle and noiseless is an expression of artistic charm.

The power of silence radiates beauty that can not be carved by hand in a short period of time, even the most luxurious materials can not be presented. Designers pay more attention to natural properties in selecting materials Pay attention to the use of materials and space mottled natural sense of harmonious coexistence.

Underground lab: THE HIDDEN BAR B-One

B-one bar is located in the basement of the small building, entrance hidden difficult to find, need to pass through the dark floor hole to the inner courtyard, and then by a secret entrance down, to be found. Tracing the light source, the concrete arch-shaped passageway is simple and mysterious. An ancient stone statue is easy to create the illusion of time and space.

The beauty of the original dilapidated objects in the space is worthy of respect. In the selection of materials, more attention is paid to the natural and harmonious symbiosis of space. Natural wood is dried as a main material for the floor and ceiling, perfectly blended with the exposed wall. Without any paint finish or process, the metal plates are cast into the entrance door, and the concrete plays an important role in the space.

“In the process of commercial design, designers should not only complete the aesthetics and functions of the space, but also participate in the planning of the whole commercial industry, ” said the designer. After the transformation, the space is independent and interoperable, from any space into, you can walk to other space. The motion trend design makes the whole project experience more complete and business operation more economical and efficient.
